Virgin Radio, one of the most recognizable and respected international radio brands, was launched at City Mall in Amman, Jordan on 24 November, 2009.
This represents the first time in the history of the Middle East for a radio station studio to be housed in a publicly accessible location...
The initiative for bringing the Virgin brand to Jordan was the brainchild of International Media Services CEO, Mr. Ramy Mansour, and International Media Services Chairman, Mr. Mohammad Al Daoud. Ramy Mansour is a pioneer in the field of radio having served as the main investor for the first successful private radio station experience in the Middle East. Mr. Mansour is a respected businessman with a diversified portfolio of businesses.
Mohammad Al Daoud, a prominent businessman in Jordan, also boasts a diversified portfolio of businesses throughout Jordan, of which Virgin Radio is a recent and highly supported addition. Both men worked together to have the studios located in City Mall, signifying a true first in the history of radio in Jordan & the Middle East.
Virgin Radio Jordan is a current hits radio station, playing consumer-tested hits for listener enjoyment. The playlist also includes three Arabic songs per hour to cater to listeners of all different types. The studios will soon be accompanied by a café where customers can observe the studio activities while enjoying gourmet coffee and snacks.
Following the Dubai launch of Virgin Radio in 2008, Virgin Radio Jordan is the second Virgin Radio station in the Middle East region, and the first in the Levant. The Jordan station is a direct result of the phenomenal and rapid success of Virgin Radio in Dubai. Reflecting this, Virgin Radio Jordan seeks to bring Jordanian listeners the music they want to hear.
